Here you will learn what we will be doing on the trip, and when we are doing it. Here are days 1-7.
Day number 1
Today we will be visiting Mount Fuji from our hotel (on cost page). To get here we will take highway E1 north until we reach interstate 138 west until we reach it. You could choose if you would like to try and conquer the mountain and touch the top (very extreme), or if you want to take a shorter, more scenic hike. If you chose the 1st choice, your day is over, but if you chose the 2nd choice, here is what we will do next: After the hike we will go to a restaurant for lunch. We will eat at Sushi Yoshi and obviously, eat sushi. It has 4.7 stars. To get here, we will take I-707 and then go into 1-139 and take a left to get to our destination. Now we will go to our hotel, and rest.
Day number 2
Today, right when you wake up, we will be going to the Adachi Museum. We will look at the gardens and walk through them for a while. We will take E1a west to E2a west and then on to E73 to get to our destination.That won't take that long so next we will be going to a Japan v. China football (soccer) match.We will ride down E1 to get here. That will be the rest of our day.
day number 3
For day number 3, we will be going to a historical site, and a national museum. We will be going to Tamozawa Imperial Villa, and Tokyo National Museum. At the villa we will walk around and see the historic WW2 sites and beautiful artifacts. We will have a picnic lunch outside and then head back home. After a good rest at the hotel, take highway E1 to K3 to B to S1, through Tokyo, to E4 to E81. At the museum we will learn about Asian artifacts and buddhist treasures. To get to the museum take E1 North onto highway 3, then turn to highway 1 and you will arrive.
day number 4
For this day, we will visit Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, go to a restaurant near there, and finally visit Kyoto Imperial Palace. We will hike the amazing bamboo forest of Arashiyama in the morning and see monkeys at the monkey park. We will be able to feed the monkeys their morning snack. To get here, head West on E1A and then turn on E1 and you have arrived at your destination. For lunch we will be eating at Kameyamaya. You will have a beautiful view of the Katsura River while you eat on the water. It is only 2000 ft away from Arashiyama forest. We will head straight from lunch to the historical Kyoto Imperial Palace. These two places are near each other so all you have to do is head West until you reach the Kamo River and your destination is just left of that. If we are lucky enough to have a new emperor chosen at the time, we will go to his celebration. If not, we will plan our trip during a ceremony.
day number 5
Today, we will go to Takachiho Gorge, and Sensoji Temple. First, we will go to the Takachiho Gorge and rent a boat and guide. We will ride through the gorge until we reach the waterfall. Notice the dragon scales on the walls as you pass through. To get here, we will take a short charter flight to the southmost island of Japan (Kyushu). It is located on highway 218 which passes along the gorge. Now we will take another charter flight to Tokyo. Once here, we will travel along I-6 and if you turn left, you have arrived. Here we will learn about the statue of Kannon and the legend that is told with it.
day number 6
For day number six, we will visit the Matsushiro Underground Headquarters, and walk along The Jogasaki Coast. First we will travel on E1 then onto E52 to E20 and finally to E19 East. Once here, we will go underground at the entrance we will walk through the complex and look for WW2 items on display. After this, we are visiting the scenic Jogasaki Coast and will walk a few hiking trails to see the beauty of the walkway. To get here after our lunch at the hotel, we will take E1 East to I-1to I-135 South.
day number 7
For our final and most exiting day, we will be traveling to Akiyoshido Cave, and Sanjusangendo Hall. First we will take another charter flight to Fukuoka airport and we will ride to the cave. Once there, we will go underground and splash around in the limestone water. Be carful, it's slippery! For our final destination in Japan, we will take a drive from the caves to the hall by taking E2A to E1A to E1. We will admire the 1001 wooden statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. Take plenty of pictures.
